Founded in 1819 by Ferdinand VII, is located in the Paseo del Prado, near the Museo Centro de Arte Reina Sofia and Thyssen-Bornemisza Museum, forming the so-called "Triangle of Art" and houses an extensive collection of works by artists between the sixteenth and nineteenth centuries as important as Velázquez, Goya, El Greco, Titian, Zurbarán, Murillo, Ribera, Tintoretto and Bosch, among others.
