The laurel is a type of humid subtropical forest endemic that occurs in several islands of the Atlantic archipelagos which form the Macaronesia region, particularly in the midlands, between 400 and 1,500 m above sea level of northern slopes, favored by moisture and fog contributed by the trade winds and relatively mild temperatures. Vestige Tertiary, consists of different types of trees , bushes, ferns , mosses and lichens , etc. and there are two classes of forest: the laurel and the myrtle se-heath.
